Happy Easter!

Maybe I'm crazy.  Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment.  (I did after all have two kids in as many years.)  But, shortly after returning home from the hospital we hosted Easter weekend for our families.  Grandma Deb and Grandpa Tom came in on Thursday, as did Aunt Lizzy.  Melinda joined in on the festivities on Saturday.
As Beau was out of school on Good Friday, Aunt Lizzy helped babysit.  We took our inagrual trip to the neighborhood park in the luxe double stroller.  Beau LOVED playing on the swingset and slides with Aunt Lizzy.  And Charlie took advantage some indirect sunlight to help with that pesky jaundice.  All in all it was a fun little excursion.
That night we all headed over to Uncle Marcus and Aunt Robyn's for dinner.  The BBQ shrimp were wonderful.  But it was a long day; both kids were tuckered out; so we called it an early night.

Saturday Billy fired up the pots and we had a good old crawfish boil with the family.  Keith and Geralyn came and brought the girls.  So Beau had a blast.  Man, does he love playing with the girls.  They played hard and after the crawfish were done they enjoyed a Easter Egg Hunt in the backyard.  Beau did well, except once he got an egg he wanted to open it instead of hunt for more.  Oh well, he's got a whole year to practice for the next hunt.

Sweet Baby Charlie
Easter Sunday, Billy and I attended mass with Charlie (yes, we left Beau at home with Aunt Lizzy and Maw Maw...he was just too wired.)  The service was lovely.  And when we arrived back home we enjoyed a nice lunch with the family.  Again, Beau had a blast playing hard and enjoying his first piece...er...many pieces...of candy.  He went to bed at 6:00 p.m. that night!
Words cannot express his joy in this tub o' balls.
All in all it was a wonderful weekend and thanks to the help of our families, it all went smoothly and with little stress - which I greatly appreciated.  Looking forward to our next family holiday together!
Our first official family photo...pretty appropriate, I'd say.

A Big Louisiana Shower

Elizabeth and I, along with a handful of Robyn's dear friends, hosted a wonderful shower for Robyn earlier this month.  (See...I'm just a few weeks behind on this post...)  The shower was beautiful and she received so many wonderful gifts to help her and Marcus get ready for Marc's big arrival.

Dessert Table - marshmallow pops, cupcakes, chocolate covered pretzels, pastries, and kisses!
The Beverage Table - Hey, virgins Bloody Marys and Mimosas are good too!
The Brunch Spread - Grits and Grillades, Crawfish Quiches, Dips, Fresh Fruit, and Fruit Pizza.  Yummmm...
Gifts galore
One very special gift she received was a custom changing table designed and built by none other than my extraordinarily talented husband.  I was so impressed with his work.  The table was just beautiful and I think Marcus and Robyn really loved it. He put a lot of time into it and I think the end result was well worth it.
Robyn had a great turn out to the shower.  I hope she knows how many people are so happy for her and Marcus and are so excited about welcoming Marc into the world.  Less than two months left!!!

A Little Texas Sprinkle

Back in February (yes, February...I'm a little behind...) we took a trip to Texas.  I was told that we were just going to visit Beau's grandparents as it might be the last trip before JB arrived.  Plus, Aunt Lizzy just happened to be in Houston for a work event.  So off we went...

Kicking it with Aunt Lizzy
Beau had a blast running around the big back yard, playing with his ball and yelling at the dogs.
Family fun time!
I LOVE this ball!
It seemed like a perfectly nice famil get together.

Beau loved playing in the water.  Can't wait until this summer when he can actually get in!

Grandma Debbie's peanut butter balls were the best!
Little did I know it was a big ploy to get me there for a little sprinkle to celebrate JB's impending arrival.  I was totally surprised.  Also, I was very pleasantly surprised by the appearance of Sarah, Linley and Ms. Melinda.  I just don't get to see enough of my favorite people!

We received our co-sleeper!  I'm so excited about that one.  And, we got one awesome double stroller, perfect for trips to the zoo!  Beau LOVED the stroller and when we returned home we made several trips in the stroller in the neighborhood.  Hope he doesn't mind sharing when the baby arrives!
Testing out the new wheels.
I think he liked it.
Going in for the kill...such a Casanova.
Linley is such a happy beautiful baby.  Wish she lived closer...well, wish her family lived closer...
Balloons and bubbles...I wish I liked anything as much as this kid loves balloons and bubbles.

Ok, so just to clarify...Robyn took a shower, put on make up and did her hair.  I was told we were leaving and there was no time to get gussied up.  I barely got out of my pajamas.  Thanks, Billy.

Bottles, blankets, and bassinets!

Last weekend my dear friends and sister-in-law hosted a wonderful baby shower for me and Beau. It exceeded all of my expectations. Not only was the shower beautiful (and tasty) we had a fantastic turnout. I am so grateful that all of my friends could make it...especially all the preggos. Including me there were EIGHT pregnant ladies there - one of whom was thirty-eight weeks along and had started feeling contractions that morning!!

Beau and I received such wonderful goodies. But the best part truly was having so many friends and family members there to celebrate with. Thanks to everyone for an amazing party!!
